The LCAP is built around eight priority areas identified by the California Department of Education:
- Access to core services
- Implementation of Common Core State Standards
- Access to a broad course of study
- Student achievement
- Other student outcomes
- Student engagement
- Parent involvement
- School climate
The specific goals and targets within each area are determined by each school district
which help ensure that local school districts have more authority to spend financial resources in a way that is better aligned with the needs of the Rio School District community and our students.
The following Rio School District programs and initiatives were created or expanded as a direct result of LCAP input and goals.
- Summer programs
- Dual Language programs at two of our schools
- After school intervention and enrichment programs
- A district wide family liaison
- One-to-one technology for all students at all schools
- Our district website, social media, Parent Square and other marketing efforts designed to improve communication with parents and prevent declining enrollment
