We are excited to host the 1st Annual Rio SD STEAM Expo on January 24th, 2026 at Rio Vista. A STEAM expo is an event that showcases and promotes projects and learning opportunities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. It's an expanded version of a traditional science fair, incorporating the "A" for "Arts" to emphasize the importance of creativity, design, and critical thinking in these fields.
Students in TK-8th grade can enter as individuals, small teams, or as a whole class with their teacher. Families are encouraged to get involved but the student should be the driver of the project. Students can enter projects in 5 different categories: Scientific Investigation (traditional science fair), reverse engineering, things, science fiction, or art.
Early Registration ends on November 7, 2025 - Students/Teachers who register early will be entered into a raffle for prizes!
The school site with the highest participation will win a special event prize for all students!
