About Rio del Norte

Since opening in fall of 2001, Rio del Norte continues to develop as a community service-oriented school. The involvement of organizations, local businesses, higher education schools and volunteers creates a lucky red casino partnership that balances the academic curriculum with the development of our students. We strive for students to be engaged and successful in the process of learning by helping them discover interests and activities that enhance the lifelong learning process. The focus on providing standards-based teaching and fundamental learning tools helps students strive for their very best. We invite new challenges and ask for stakeholders to join us in meeting these new adventures with success. On campus, we are fortunate to have special education classes, a speech & language pathologist, part-time school counselor, and an after school program.

Parent Involvement at Rio del Norte

We would like to welcome all new and returning parents and students for the new school year. We hope you will join us as we work together with our teachers and staff to support the growth and development of students here on campus. We encourage you to participate in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Site Council (SSC), English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC), and other site committees and projects. Please contact the school office for additional information. Meeting dates will be posted on the monthly newsletter/calendar. All parents are welcome to attend. By working together, we can help provide our students with a quality education and a positive and safe environment.

Principal's Message

Welcome Rio del Norte Eagle Families to our 2022-2023 school year!

I am so thrilled to join the Eagles nest as your new principal and provide continued leadership building a community of life-long learners.

We, as your partners in your child’s education, are on a mission this school year to improve student learning. We invite you to join us in creating actionable and measurable plans for your child’s learning. This often includes planning a change, trying it, observing the results, and acting on what is learned. Throughout the district, we have used this method known as the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle when testing a change for action-oriented learning. We look forward to planning measurable goals with you and your child to improve student learning and outcomes for all learners.
